Welcome to my reading room. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the selection. I’m building a collection of some of my favorite books by some great authors. It started out as a list of traditional regencies because they are so hard to find. Local libraries did not even have a selection and for those I did find, the selection was small. I love reading historicals, but without all the heat that is very common today. I prefer the sweet romance, the romantic comedy, the kind you see in a Hallmark or Lifetime Movie. So, I took to heart a quote by Toni Morrison, “If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” My own regency was born. Storm Chasers of Wentworth Hall will be out soon.
I continue to keep up with the industry and uncover treasures in different genres such as cozy mysteries, YA, science fiction, contemporary, and women’s fiction that meet my criteria. There are many wonderful adventures out there to find. So, what are my criteria you ask?
My criteria are simple:
- The heat level has to be no higher than a PG-13.* For my purposes that means what you may expect to see in a PG-13 movie, you can expect to read on a page.
- There has to be a good story which means an enjoyable read. I know this may be a matter of opinion, but as long as I am enjoying what I am reading, and it keeps me turning the page, it makes the cut.
- Absolutely must have a happy ever after or happy for now ending. This is because when I read a book, I want to feel good when I’m done. I don’t want to be thrown into a depression at the end of the story. There is already enough tragedy in the world, right?
*Disclaimer: I only recommend the titles listed. Although one book meets my criteria because I have read it, I cannot guarantee all books by the same author do. In addition, I may include books that have been recommended to me by trusted sources who know my criteria. If you feel you have read a recommended book that does not meet my criteria, feel free to send me an email to let me know.
